Minutes ‐ Kirkcowan Community Council held on Monday 18th March 2019
at 7.30pm in the Lesser St Couan‘s Hall (Amended 10/4/19)

POLICE MATTERS: John Jamieson attended meeting – reiterated to use 101 number all call will be answered whatever time of day it is.
21/2/19 local resident arrested wanted on warrant.
7/3/19 local arrested, threatening behaviour.
15/3/19 RTC local person charged.
Fly tipping reported, will pass on to Community Wardens.
Spring surgery 21/3/19 at Village Hall 3.30pm ‐4.30pm.

Junior Football Club – Mrs A Dabner signatory as treasurer ‐ 2 other signatories to be Mrs J Sommerville and Mrs W Baird.
Machars Action – Nothing to report.
Federation Report – Question and Answer session – Prepare for Brexit – Discussion on drugs and scams.
Feedback from Police not satisfactory, need mechanism in place to improve. Use 101 Number to report anything suspicious.
Flower Planter – Broken ‐ ACTION JP to speak to Keith Gorden to get repaired.
Wooden Flower Boxes – 2 planters in Church Street have the bottoms out ACTION JP to speak to Mr McNeil to get repaired.
Tender – ACTION JP to contact local gardeners to get prices for planting flowerbeds and boxes.
Park – JP reported DGC have money to upgrade/improve park – invite Karen Brownlea to meeting to discuss? Feeling of member money from DGC not required as we have Community Development Trust money.
Kings Garage – Sold subject to conditions. Request to ask Solicitor to keep members informed.
Kirkcowan Village Hall – Nothing to report, meeting next week.
Container at School – Work being carried out on classrooms, containers are for workmen.
Jenny Morrow Wood – Agreed acceptable offer £32K increasing to £40K if necessary. ACTION AG to speak to his brother prior to sending in offer.

Completed Application Forms for Funding from Kirkcowan Community Development Trus
The following applications were submitted to Kirkcowan Community Council for approval at their meeting on 18th March 2019
Kirkcowan Under Five’s – Application for Hall fees for year, end of term trip, storage boxes, toy animals, felt tips and baby gym. Application Request £932.91.
Approved by Kirkcowan Community Council.
Once approved by Kirkcowan Community Council the applications then go to the Directors of Kirkcowan Community Development Trust for approval – meeting 21/3/19.
The meeting closed at 8.55pm.
