CONSULTATION:
Draft Shoreline Management Plan (SMP), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Habitats Regulation Appraisal (HRA) record
Dumfries and Galloway Council as Lead Local Authority for the Solway Local Plan District, as identified under the Flood Risk Management (Scotland) Act 2009, hereby advise that information regarding the update of the Dumfries and Galloway Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) will be available for review from Friday 17 June 2022. The plan is being updated as required in the Solway Local Flood Risk Management Plan 2016 and will establish a robust, evidence-based and long-term sustainable approach for managing the risk of coastal flooding and erosion along each part of the Dumfries and Galloway coast.
A Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and a Habitats Regulations Appraisal (HRA) record have also been prepared to examine the potential for significant environmental effects from implementing the Plan and to propose mitigation measures.
Draft versions of the SMP, SEA and HRA record are now being put to consultation.
The consultation will open on Friday 17 June 2022 and will close on Friday 16 September 2022.
