Welcome to Edition 15 of Community.
We are delighted to introduce each and every edition of the community bulletin, and we continue to be both greatly impressed by and very grateful for the huge effort of citizens, communities, volunteers and staff across Dumfries and Galloway, as we respond to COVID-19.
Today, we have articles on community resilience, street clean ups, quilting, and carers – and a spotlight on the Council’s own Care and Support Services, and our dedicated care and support workers who are on the frontline carrying our around 5,500 visits per week to keep our most vulnerable citizens safe.
It’s important to remind everyone the country’s ‘stay at home’ rule will stay in place until the first phase of lockdown easing begins on Thursday, which will involve people from two different households being allowed to meet up outdoors, including in gardens, while maintaining a two metre physical distance. Public gatherings are not allowed at this stage.
Please continue to stay safe.
