Kirkcowan – What's Going On?

DG Support – Community Bulletin – Ed 35

Welcome to edition 35 of Community

The 9th hour of the 9th day of the 9th month marks the start of Emergency Services Day, the day we remember the more than 7,500 members of the emergency services who have been killed as a result of their duties and give thanks to the NHS and all the other vital emergency services for all that they do for us.

Never more so than this year with the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope you will join with us in recognising the two minutes’ silence at 9am on Wednesday to mark the start of this very important day.

Looking forward, we welcome the start of our leisure venues reopening across the region from 14 September.

Obviously, people need to take extra care when using these facilities, and adaptations have been made for your safety, but we know these venues are vital to get everyone as fit as they can be to fight the effects of the pandemic and we’re really looking forward to seeing you again.
