Foster carers play a vital role in providing a stable and loving environment in which children can feel secure and develop.
Fostering Fortnight starts on Monday and provides an opportunity to thank all of the foster carers supporting children and young people in Dumfries and Galloway. Of course, we’re not just thanking existing foster carers; we want to recruit new ones. So, if you think that you could be a foster carer, see the article in this edition of Community.
Statistics show that we continue to make steady progress in overcoming the Covid virus regionally and nationally. However, in some other countries, the effects are still truly devastating and there is clearly a massive effort and application of resources needed to tackle the virus and overcome the pandemic.
So, even as we rollout vaccines at an excellent rate, we must all continue to take precautions to safeguard ourselves and our loved ones.
Please continue to follow the FACTS guidance: face coverings, avoid crowds, clean hands, two metre distance. Anyone with symptoms should self-isolate with their household and book a test.
