3. Minutes of Previous AGM (20th May 2024)- Previously circulated. Hazel Matthews proposed, seconded by Robert Drysdale and accepted as correct.
4. Chairpersons’ Report (J Drysdale)
As my term as chair has been short, writing this report was not easy. Elected in October and not being able to hold our October meeting as we weren’t officially elected until November, so it’s been a very short term.
Due to short timing we were unable to arrange the normal Christmas Light Switch On that we have had in previous years, but thanks to a couple of volunteers we got the lights on the tree!
Again, from this it was a quieter time over Christmas. January brought Storm Arwen but in true Kirkcowan style people were out helping others where they could. Thankfully it has been fairly quiet since then.
I would like to thank Andrew first for his continued work on footpaths. I am sure that once they are completed and the number of people enjoying the new Park we hope they also head out and enjoy these too.
I’d like to thank Mary for her dedication and commitment she gives in her role as Secretary. Andrew for the work as Treasurer and all those in KCC for their contributions. Finally thanks to Kath for helping us out with taking the minutes at our monthly meetings.
John Drysdale May 2025
5. Treasurer’s Report (AG)
Andrew Gladstone took over as treasurer from Hazel McWhirter in October 2024. There is a healthy balance in the accounts. The main change was transferring to online banking with the Bank of Scotland instead of writing cheques.
6. Accounts and Asset Register:
The year’s accounts are with Montpelier Accountants and are delayed. The Asset Register is complete and remains the same as in the previous year.
7. Election of Office Bearers:
Chairman – John Drysdale agreed to continue, and the committee agreed unanimously.
Treasurer – Andrew Gladstone –Proposed by Hazel Matthews, seconded by Robert Drysdale, committee agreed unanimously.
Secretary – Mary Harkness – committee agreed unanimously that she should continue.
8. AOCB – none.
Meeting concluded at 19.15 and Ordinary Meeting followed.
