Kirkcowan – What's Going On?

Kicking Carbon Event – 23rd November

Kicking Carbon Community Event

The Foundation would be delighted if you could join them anytime between 11am and 3pm to celebrate the work that is being done in the community to care for the environment, learn about your local Climate Challenge Fund Project (the only CCF project in Dumfries and Galloway!) and meet new, like minded people.

The Foundation will be opening their doors to the community for a day of learning and interaction with groups, charities and businesses that can help the people of Dumfries and Galloway do their bit to lower their Carbon Footprint and look after the environment. This could be by getting involved with some of the local groups, or by making small behaviour changes such as eating locally to reduce food miles, getting advice on saving energy at home, or travelling as actively as possible and taking advantage of public transport for longer journeys.

In April 2019, The Greystone Rovers Foundation secured two years of funding by the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund, managed by Keep Scotland Beautiful. This led to the formation of their Kicking Carbon project, which aims to encourage green behaviours in Dumfries and deliver education in Carbon Literacy to our local schools and the wider community.
