Tackling Fuel Poverty

Event Invitation – A Smart Approach To Tackling Fuel Poverty

Smart Energy GB and Dumfries and Galloway Council invite you to join us on Friday 13th March 2020 for a round table discussion focused on a smart approach to tackling fuel poverty.

Smart meters and smart energy technology are already revolutionising our energy sector and will increasingly play a key role in upgrading Britain’s Energy System to be cleaner, greener and more efficient.

This new technology also presents a unique opportunity for fuel poor or low-income households, empowering them to better understand their energy use, reduce their consumption and costs and make positive long-term changes to their household finances.

Smart Energy GB is the campaign for a Smarter Britain. It is our task to help everyone in Great Britain understand smart meters, the national rollout and their wider long-term benefits for consumers.

The event will take place on Friday 13th March 2020 at the following locations and times:

Lochside Community Association, Rankine Avenue, Dumfries, DG2 9NS.

9am – 11.15am

Networking breakfast provided

McMillan Hall, Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart, DG8 6EQ.

2pm – 4.15pm

Networking lunch provided

We will bring together a variety of speakers who will share their expertise in delivering support to vulnerable consumers. You’ll hear from speakers such as Cllr Andy Fergusson and Cllr John Martin and they will drive the discussion about how we can all make the most of smart energy technology to help to prevent and alleviate fuel poverty.

A full agenda will be circulated shortly.
